| Legal Aid of Cambodia Khmer English LAWYERS SERVING CAMBODIA'S POOR FREE OF CHARGE LEGAL AID OF CAMBODIA photos: JMDfilm Legal Aid of Cambodia (LAC) is a non-governmental, independent, Khmer-administered, non-profit and non-political organization founded in 1995. LAC provides free legal services to the Cambodia's poor in both civil and criminal cases with its mission that is to provide quality legal service to and advocate for the Cambodias poor so that they are fairly and equally treated in the society. LACs clients are Cambodias poor - Cambodian people residing in Cambodia. LAC is one of the few non-governmental legal aid organizations in Cambodia to maintain a significant, permanent presence in rural Cambodia where 80% of the population resides. LAC maintains offices in Phnom Penh, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Rattanakiri, Kandal, Sihanouk Ville, Koh Kong, Kompong Speu and Kompong Chhnang. The head office in Phnom Penh also includes three specialized programs including the Child Justice Program, Land Law Program and the Women Justice Program. Currently, LAC is supported by donors from International Community based in the country and outside the country including the two largest donors, Oxfam Novib and the Open Society Institute. ..................................................................................................
